Six months!

Liam turned six months old yesterday. Where has the time gone???

Liam is doing really well. He rolls all over the place and is working on sitting up by himself. His favourite things are his jumperoo, watching the kitties, going for walks and seeing Daddy at work. He's also becoming a real little chatterbox - I think he finds a new "word" everyday - and he flirts with all the ladies! He eats a variety of fruits and veggies and he's starting to taste some of Mommy and Daddy's food (he wants to taste it ALL - you should see him stare when we are eating!) . Last but not least, he's starting to take an interest in everyday objects, like the phone. If you go anywhere near him with the phone he goes crazy trying to get it. It's the same thing with the remote - that's why we found him his own!

First Trip to the Lake

On Saturday we took Liam on his first visit to Riding Mountain National Park. Our friends Todd and Twylla had a cabin rented there, so we went up for the day to do some window shopping, walking, and swimming. It was the hottest day of the year so far - 47 C with the humidex! Needless to say, we were very glad to get into the pool at the cabin! It was Liam's first swim in a big pool and he loved it! It took him a few minutes to get used to the water, but then he was splashing and kicking like crazy. Then, we borrowed Hayden's pool ring and Liam just slouched back and relaxed - it was so cute! After our swim we had some BBQ and then went for a walk for some ice cream. We also went down to the beach to cruise the boardwalk and go down the pier. By the end of all this, we had one tired little boy so we packed him into the van and headed for home. He was tuckered right out - he slept the whole night through and didn't wake up until 7:00!

Mr. Smiley

Cousins

On Sunday we celebrated Liam's Great-Grandpa K's birthday. Almost all of the immediate family was there and Liam got to play with his cousin Max, who is just three months older than he is.

Then, on Wednesday Liam met his cousin Elizabeth for the first time. Elizabeth is even closer to Liam's age - she was born just 12 days earlier! Elizabeth was super-excited to meet him, and Liam did quite well considering it was past his bedtime.

Liam's still got two little cousins left to meet - Noah (who is just one day older than Liam!) and Presley (three months younger). It's so nice that they are all so close in age - as Liam gets older he will always have someone to play with at family get-togethers!

Rollin' Rollin' Rollin'

Now that Liam has learned to roll both ways, he is all over the place. If I turn my head for a second, I never know where he'll end up!

Me want cookies!!!

Liam had his first cookie on Wednesday! He really liked chewing on it - he got screaming mad when I finally took it away from him!

Lee-Bee goes to the fair!

Since there is rarely anything more exciting than watching paint dry here, we just HAD to go the ag fair. We took Liam to see the animals, walked around the midway, and, of course, Mommy and Daddy had a treat of carnival food. Then, in the evening we went to see the Canada Day fireworks. We weren't going to go, but when Liam woke up a few minutes before they were going to start we just piled into the van. The show was pretty good for a small town. Liam definately noticed the display, but he didn't really care much. I think he was just confused - why were we out in the van at bedtime?

Taking a break...

Who knew jumping was such hard work?

Ooooh, toes are nummy!
