Baby Bums and Itty Bitty Feet

I just love babies in nothing but a diaper!

Feeding Time at the Zoo

This little boy loves his food, but man what a mess! He can't eat without getting his fingers in there too - then he rubs it all over his face. I even find carrots up his nose!

Wake Up Call

Liam has learned a new trick for sleeptime. Just in case we don't hear his cry, Liam also thumps his feet against the mattress just to make sure we know he is awake.

Attack of the Toys!

Liam loves to play with toys now. He'll pick them up if they are lying beside him or placed on his chest and they go straight into his mouth! I have to laugh though because he hasn't figured out yet that he can also grab things off his face. He'll put something in his mouth, let it go, and then make a fuss because it is sitting on his face and he can't get it off!

4 Month Appointment

Yesterday Liam had his 4 month appointment. He now weighs - drumroll, please - 18 lbs 4 oz! I actually have to say I was a little disappointed. After months of gaining 2-3 pounds he only gained a bit over 1 pound this time. (He was 17 lbs 5 oz at 3 months but was wearing jeans and a heavy jacket - this time he just had shorts and a t-shirt) The doctor says he looks to be a very happy and healthy baby!

Here's Liam hanging out in his Pack n' Play this afternoon:

4 Months Today!!

Four months old already! He's getting to be such a big boy!

Grandma and Grandpa

On Sunday Liam's Grandma and Grandpa J. came for a visit. Here's a picture of Liam and Grandma playing, and a picture of Liam and Grandpa that was taken on Mother's Day.

First day in shorts!

Friday was an absolutely gorgeous day, so for the first time ever Liam wore shorts. (12 month shorts, but that's a different story!) Doesn't he look cute?

Poop, baby, poop!

Well, we just came off of a 10 day poop strike. Liam finally "let loose" yesterday. Many people recommended prunes so on Thursday (day 6) we gave them a try. Needless to say, Liam was not impressed and those prunes did not do a darn thing.

Sitting on the Couch

Let's just say we are not quite ready to sit on the couch yet...

Tummy time, again!

Liam is really starting to realise that tummy time is not as bad as he previously thought. Now that he has mastered raising up on his elbows and has a different view, he actually kind of likes it!

Sleeping like a baby

I love watching Liam sleep! He's just too cute!

Fun with Daddy

A prickly beard and glasses...what could be more fun??

Tummy Time!

Liam is definately getting better with tummy time. At first, he used to just bury his face in the floor and give up without even trying. Now we can get a few minutes of play out of him. He tries to roll over; he pushes with his hands and sticks his legs straight out in the air behind him. The really funny thing is every time he tries he strains so hard he ends up farting!

Now Really, Liam!

Seriously Liam! If you want to tell me off for always having the camera in your face, at least use the right finger!

A Bit Pricey for a Soother

Last week we bought Liam a Jumperoo. He hasn't figured out how to jump yet, but he does like to look at the toys and lights.

However, 99% of the time it just gets used as a large, expensive soother. You should hear him suck on that thing - it's like he's trying to suck the pictures right out of the fabric!

Liam and his Mommy

Derek finally took a picture of me and Liam! I just love cuddling with my little man!

The Cutest Baby. Ever.

After reading Kate's entry The Cutest Baby. Ever. over on The Brody Blog, I felt I needed to post similarily - especially once I took this picture:

The Secret to Naptime Success

After much difficulty in getting Liam to take naps in his crib, I believe we have stumbled upon the solution: a lovey. Not only does clutching it keep him from grabbing and pulling his pacifier out, but he seems to love having it touch his face. Since we started giving the lovey to him it has not taken more than 5 minutes for him to fall asleep. Now all we need to do is buy at least a dozen more so that we have enough to last until he's eighteen.

3 Months Old Today!

Wow! Our little man is growing up so quickly!

Out Like a Light

On Saturday we took a trip to visit Grandma and Grandpa J. Liam loved visiting with his grandparents - not so much sleeping in a strange place. Between 11 am and 7 pm the little man only slept a grand total of an hour. I had great intentions of taking pictures, but that gets forgotten rather quickly when you have a howling baby on your hands. We left to go home and it was barely 3 blocks before Liam was sound asleep. Here's what we found after the two hour drive home:

Definately not the mailman's son...

Buddies!

Yesterday we spent some time with our friends Todd and Twylla and their son Hayden (9 mos). We hope that Liam and Hayden will be great buddies as they get older. Hayden may be bigger now, but Liam is catching up quickly! Hayden's mom, Twylla, was telling him that if he ever wanted to beat Liam up he'd better do it now!

*I should clarify that I am the one holding Hayden, and my friend Twylla is holding Liam. Thanks to those who thought otherwise!*

Liam Longstockings

.

Daddy, why do you insist on doing this to me? And Mommy, why do you take pictures of it?

Two Month Update

I can't believe Liam is two months old already! Wow!

We went to the clinic on Wednesday, March 30 for his two month check-up. The doctor says he is in perfect health! Our little man weighed in at 15lbs 7oz, and is 24 inches long (I don't think they measured him correctly when he was born - we always got 22 inches). He was a champ with his needles - he was sleeping by the time we got back to the van!

Liam is a very happy baby and will easily spend half an hour playing with his "kicker" or looking at his mobile in his crib. He is starting to get into a routine with his feeding and naps and he has slept through the night 3 times (although not in a row). He always has smiles and coos for Mommy, Daddy, or anyone else who may be around. Way to go Liam!

Thoughts on Picture Taking...

'Nuff said.

No More Film!!

After discussing it for many months, we finally decided to buy a digital camera. The deciding factor? How much film we have been going through with pictures of Liam! If we had bought the camera before he was born it would have paid for itself already - that's how many pictures I have been taking. At least now I can preview the pictures and just print up the ones I like instead of hoping for one or two good ones out of a roll of film. Of course now that I have a digital camera it will be much easier for me to post pictures - prepare to be bombarded!

So Happy!

Now that we are more or less settled in at home, I'll have to make more of an effort to keep this blog updated!

Well it has been six weeks since our little man has come into our lives and I couldn't be happier! More rested, yes; out of my pj's by noon, yes; but happier - not possible!

Liam is a good baby. He only fusses if he needs something (or if he is pooping). He is a big boy and growing more everyday - 2 weeks ago he was already 13lbs! To top things off, Over the past few days he has learned how to smile - that alone has made any trouble or inconvenience that we have experienced worth it.

Here's Liam at 5 weeks:
